A common inconvenience in the functionality of your EAS system is false alarming, or "phantoming." If your antennas are alarming without explanation, or are failing to alarm at all, consider the following:

• Are there any tagged merchandise in close proximity to the system? Retailers can sometimes place tagged products too close to the system, causing an unwarranted alarm. Check to make sure that there is no tagged merchandise within a 3' radius surrounding each live antenna. This includes both hard tags and paper labels.
  
  
• Have you recently changed the configuration of the store? Remodeling a storefront or rearranging product displays can displace hidden tags or leave merchandise too close to the antenna. Again, ensure that a 3' radius is observed.
  
  
• Check the system’s power source. Make sure that power is being supplied to all live antennas. Double check outlets to make certain that they are functioning properly. Also, check to see that the circuit breaker in your establishment is in good working order.
  
  
• Make sure that there are no large metal objects in close proximity to the system (i.e. fixtures, computers, machinery). These objects can obstruct detection and hinder your system from functioning properly.

If you have checked all of the above, disconnect power from system at the source, wait about 2 minutes, and repower. This will reset the antenna systems.
